Paris Nice 2020 #historyofrally
The 1898 Parijs-Amsterdam-Parijs was the first ever car race to cross international borders, the Paris Nice however was the first ever car race recorded in history. Manufacturers were eager to prove that the car was a proper and reliable substitute for a horse and carriage.
After the 2018 and 2019 revival edition with 80 pre-war cars, we will change course for 2020 and this time head for the South. The 2020 Pre-war rally will go from Paris to Nice in 5 days of rallying through the centre of France.
The exact location of the finish will remain a secret for now but I can assure you that it will be as good as last years finish hotel!
The adventures by Classic Events are designed as sociable and relaxed events with relative short day's and distances. Every now and then a highlight will be fitted into the route if possible. A lovely route with the best available hotels on route. You will have plenty of time for a relaxed drive and explore the countryside with rally friends old and new.
Fitting in these kind of events there will be some competition as well. But only if you sign up for it. We always offer a route without any competition for the most smiles per mile! The competition can be a regularity section, a special test or a navigation section on route.
Day 1 – Paris - Beaune (about 300 km)
Day 2 – Beaune – Annecy (about 280 km)
Day 3 – Annecy – Serre Chevalier (about 250 km)
Day 4 – Serre Chevalier – La Martre (about 250 km)
Day 5 – La Martre – Nice or closeby... (about 250 km)
(routes and distances mentioned have not been been decided yet and indicative)
We will use the best available hotels on route which suite the special needs of a classic car event. Parking, atmosphere and functionality. Dinner usually starts at 20:00 o' clock and the winners of the day will be announced as well as a little information about the day to come.
Routesystems and Competition
No rally without competition. We hope to have found the right combination between a nice touring event and the competition parts to ensure a pleasurable day. The roadbook will be in style with the Era where the competition will be a bit of old fashioned mapreading. As usual we will also have the Touring class for those who would like to join us and be assured with the most smiles per mile!
An experienced rally service team will follow all of you to make sure that you do not get stranded in the middle of nowhere. The will try to fix it of course and otherwise make sure you get a tow to the nearest garage.
The entrée fee for the 2020 Paris - Nice rally is € 5.250,00 per equipe of 2 people in a double room. Single room supplement is available upon request at € 1.750,00 but not guaranteed as the hotels are not very large this edition. The maximum number of entrees this year is 50.
In the entree fee:
6 nights (in double occupancy) including wines and diner
5 lunches on route
Decalls, roadbook, rallyplates
Prize giving dinner (including the final night stay in the finish hotel)
The organization is in the trusted hands of Classic Events, among other events responsible for the Winter Trial.
